'Elder Scrolls 6' release news: Will Bethesda announce game soon?

With game company Bethesda confirming the long-rumored existence of "Fallout 4," it looks like the arrival of "Elder Scrolls 6" will either happen at a much later date or perhaps not at all. Bethesda won't tell if it has plans of releasing such game or if it is even in the works.

However, that does not stop gamers from anticipating another "Elder Scrolls" installment. There are rumors that the demanded title will be coming out later this year, while others say it will be released next year, as early as March.

Conversely, some observers say that since Bethesda releases new installments every four years, and with "Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited" having been released only this year, a new open-world adventure from the lineup might still be far off.

It is worth noting, however, that Bethesda only responded to "Fallout 4" rumors with radio silence, only to surprise fans of the game. This might just be the case for "Elder Scrolls 6." Whether or not the game studio is playing the same trick remains to be seen.

Other than its release date, fans are also speculating about the game's details. The alleged setting of "Elder Scrolls 6" is Argonia, a marsh province in Tamriel that's home to rainforests and swamplands. Crossmap says the gameplay will be patterned after Morrowind and Skyrim. Unfortunately, details about the game are mostly from rumor mills.

For now, the sixth installment in the adventure series from Bethesda is being wished for and should it show up, it would likely be in three or four years' time. Still, gamers hope that it would at least be mentioned or hinted at in some way, shape or form at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo.
