The very first major add-on for the rebranded "The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited" massive multiplayer online fantasy title is confirmed to be coming out later this year.

According to an announcement by developer and publisher Bethesda via its official website, the first expansion pack, dubbed as the "Imperial City" DLC, will officially roll out for the PC and Mac systems on Aug. 31, followed by the Xbox One version on Sept. 15. The PlayStation 4 expansion will follow the day after.

However, those who are playing "Tamriel Unlimited" on PC and Mac can get a first taste of the upcoming expansion, as "Imperial City" will reportedly be launched for free later this month on "The Elder Scrolls Online's" public test servers.

For hardcore fans who will first explore the expansion, the new location is best suited for both groups of mid-level fighters or high-level warriors grinding alone. According to the launch details on the official website, the game is expansive enough that "It is comprised of six Imperial Districts, the extensive Imperial Sewers network, and the White-Gold Tower at its center."

When exploring, though, players must be wary not only of the Molag Bal's monsters roaming through the districts and sewers, but must also look out for groups and players from rival factions, since the expansion's new dungeons and quests are expected to dole out new weapons, in-game items, and a new currency for Veteran Rank 16 arsenal.

The "Imperial City" expansion will come in two phases – the base game patch and the add-on pack. The base game patch will update "The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited" at no extra cost, while the add-on expansion pack comes with full active "Elder Scrolls Online" membership, and can be purchased for 2,500 in-game Crowns at the Crown Store.
