As reported by Gamespot, Bethesda Softworks has announced "The Elder Scrolls Gold Edition" which will launch for PC and consoles on Sept. 9.  The report points out that the Gold Edition will allow players to have full access to the entire story of the game, from beginning to end, and access to all DLC content right from the beginning.

It is noted that this will be the second major update following the launch of "The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited" which was the game's launch on consoles, bearing several key improvements from the original PC version. The Gold Edition is expected to come with its own set of bug fixes and improvements.

As stated by the report, the Gold Edition will come with all four current DLCs and will also be compatible with the upcoming fifth DLC, "Shadows of the Hist." The previous for DLC packs were "The Imperial City," "Orsinium," Thieves Guild" and "Dark Brotherhood."

"Shadows of the Hist" will introduce players to two Argonian dungeons called "Cradle of Shadows" and "Ruins of Mazzatun." It will also allow players to dye their costumes and alter appearances with an in-game parlor. This parlor will allow players to utilize micro-transactions to alter their race, voice and appearance in the game.

It will be free to download for those who purchased the Season Pass and for others it will cost 1,500 crowns.

The fifth DLC will launch on Aug. 1 for PC and will be released for the Xbox One and PS4 on Aug. 16. It is undetermined if the Gold Edition will immediately be compatible for players getting the "Shadows of the Hist" DLC expansion or if a later update will give it for free to those who purchase or pre-order the Gold Edition.

Fans speculate that the Gold Edition may be a last hurrah for the game as Bethesda is now shifting its attention towards the PS4 and Xbox One remaster of "Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim."
