"The Elder Scrolls Online" will be free to play this coming weekend.

To be more specific, the free "Elder Scrolls Online" weekend actually begins today, Thursday, and the event will last up until 8 a.m. GMT on Monday, according to Eurogamer

Unfortunately, not everyone who wants to join in on the free weekend event for "The Elder Scrolls Online" will be able to do so.

The free to play "Elder Scrolls Online" promotion is currently available only for Mac, personal computer (PC), and Xbox One. That means that PlayStation 4 (PS4) players will be missing out on the free promotion, at least for this weekend. Tech limitations are being cited as the reasons for why PS4 players cannot participate in the free trial.

The good news is that PS4 players may have a free weekend event devoted to them in the future. ZeniMax, the game's developer, has indicated that a free trial for "Elder Scrolls Online" on PS4 may be made available in the future, so players can hopefully look forward to that.

Players who will be participating in the weekend event for "Elder Scrolls Online" on PC, Mac, and Xbox One will also receive a 60 percent discount for the game should they choose to purchase it after getting a chance to take it for a test run, but that's not the extend of the promotion.

Fans who will participate in the free weekend event and also those who are just regulars to "Elder Scrolls Online" will also be entered in a sweepstakes that will reward one lucky player with a $1 million cash prize, according to Cinema Blend

Interested players can head on over to millionreasons.elderscrollsonline.com to sign up for the sweepstakes, and as long as they play "The Elder Scrolls Online" anytime between now and Jan. 10, they will be eligible to receive the massive cash prize.
