A cunning side of Morland Holmes (John Noble) will be further fleshed out in "Elementary" season 5 as he continues his bid to destroy the Moriarty organization from within.

Sherlock (Jonny Lee Miller) was not prepared to learn how much he did not know about his father in terms of pulling off such schemes. He was caught off guard upon seeing a new layer of Morland's personality.

Prior to this momentous task, Morland showed zero signs of someone having to pull off such task. However, in "Elementary" season 5, he will show that no one will be more perfect to take on the role than him.

"It's very dangerous and it has to be done patiently and with great subtlety. All of that considered, I couldn't imagine a better man for the job," executive producer Rob Doherty told Entertainment Weekly.

"I don't think it's the kind of thing Morland will attempt to wrap up by a certain deadline. He knows he has to immerse himself, get to know the players and very carefully, very deliberately start to pick them apart," he continued.

As Morland goes about his task, Sherlock finds a mission for himself, which is wrapping his head around the fact that his father is now the kind of person he never thought he would be.

That being said, Morland's willingness to put his life on the line could have Sherlock thinking that it might be time to reconcile with his father. Whether or not this will happen in "Elementary" season 5 remains a mystery for now.

Meanwhile, there are rumors going around that "Game of Thrones" star Natalie Dormer will appear in "Elementary" season 5.

[Spoiler Alert!] The fate of her character in the HBO hit reportedly opened up her schedule for an appearance. However, at the moment, nothing has been confirmed yet.
