With so many games coming up this year, it is nothing new for developers to put their game out for the beta. While most betas, especially on PC, need a season pass or just payment in general, the beta "Elite Dangerous: Beyond" is free for everyone, at least the first chapter. Players can already try out most of the main features of the game for themselves.

The open beta has already been confirmed for PC by game developers, Frontier Developments, and it was first teased earlier this month. The storyline will basically pick up from the last season's last chapter. During then, the Thargoids started attacking the human's starsports. The first chapter will build its story from there.

While it is still on beta, players should not exactly expect a lot from it. So far, there are features like the GalNet Audio, Wing Missions, and Trading Data. The GalNet Audio simply allows players to easily access news stories. Wing Missions are for players who love team-based challenges. As such, rewards will be given and shared with the allies.

Lastly, Trading Data, straightforwardly, will help in developing the trading system. Aside from all these features, players can always give feedback for the game as they play through it. If there is any time developers will listen to players the most, it would be during the open beta tests.

"Chapter One also features a range of game-improving updates, including changes to the engineering mechanics, an overhaul of mission rewards, and an altered crime and punishment system," says Frontier Developments, as per PC Gamer. "The open beta will also allow commanders to fly a new Alliance warship: the Chieftain."

The open beta for Chapter One of "Elite Dangerous: Beyond" is officially out now. Players can play it through the in-game launcher.
