Eight-time Grammy award winning singer and songwriter Sir Elton John has already found the fitting end to his long and illustrious music career, and it will take form of a massive 300-date tour which will bring him across five continents in a span of three years.

The 70-year-old musician recently announced in an event at Gotham Hall in New York City that his "Farewell Yellow Brick Road" tour will be the last of his 50-year career. The icon said in a report by The Guardian that he wishes to enjoy the coming years of his life by spending it with his family.

"It's time to come off the road so I can fully embrace the next important chapter of my life," he said. "I need to dedicate more time to raising my children."

His final tour will kick off in Pennsylvania in September 2018 and will have stopped over 10 cities in the U.K. by 2020. All of John's outfits for the tour will be designed by Gucci brand's creative director Alessandro Michele, foreshadowing the extravagance of the event that is fit for one of the greatest musical performers of all time.

"It's going to be the most produced, fantastic show I've ever done," he added. "It's a way of saying thank you and going out with a bang. I don't want to go out with a whimper."
