Eminem new album release date this year? what to expect
Eminem hasn't been very active in the music scene lately. If truth be told, the legendary rapper has shied away from the public eye altogether. But this year might be the year he re-emerges as news about a new album continues to trickle.
According to Morning Ledger, Eminem has been hanging out in studios lately, prompting speculations that he is working on a follow-up to his last album "The Marshall Mathers LP 2," which was released in 2013.
While it will be a joy to fans to see the celebrated rapper from Detroit put out new rap music, Denaun Porter -- a former member of D12, a rap group Eminem co-founded -- doused the rumors about the 43-year-old releasing a new album.
"I don't think so. Em doesn't work like that. He's gotta feel that there's things to talk about and things to say. I mean, he's working on some other things that I know of," Porter told Conspiracy Worldwide.
Porter added that the Grammy award-winning rapper only helped out in one of Slaughterhouse's projects and Yelawolf's latest album, but as for new music of his own, he doubts the rap royalty is doing that behind closed doors.
Eminem has laid low in the past years. Last year, his only known project was for the soundtrack of Jake Gyllehaal's sports drama film "Southpaw," although he also appeared in "Only in Monroe" for an interview with host Stephen Colbert.
While he has no projects slated, Eminem busies himself with AQUAhydrate's movement to donate one million bottles of water to residents of Flint who have been suffering from a water crisis since August. It was discovered that the water supply in the area had E. Coli.
"Proud to support efforts of AQUAhydrate in the million bottle water donation for people in Flint. More to come," the "Slim Shady" rapper tweeted.
