Eminem is expected to release a brand new album this year, but it is looking like this project will not materialize in the coming months.

Rumors about a new album are already circulating the web since last year. There were even reports that Slim Shady's ninth studio album will be called "Roots."

This project reportedly features the likes of rappers Xzibit and Dr. Dre, who incidentally expressed his interest in working with Eminem, may it be a tour or an album, according to Snoop Dogg.

"I'm pretty sure he wants to do it. He just wants the team in place. Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre – that's the dream team for him," Snoop Dogg told Billboard.

While this presents an opportunity for Eminem to be back in the music scene, nothing is set in stone yet with regards to this "dream" collaboration. For now, it is yet to be made official.

Eminem has been off the radar for months now, and as far as music goes, it looks like he is intent on honing new artists and collaborating with his fellows as opposed to putting together an album of his own.

The "Stan" rapper was one of the people that helped singer Skylar Grey with her new album, "Natural Causes." She revealed on her website that Eminem, who produced her song "Come Up for Air," helped with the lyrics.

"Marshall gave me a lot of great feedback, so I rewrote the lyrics like three times, but I finally got to a place where we both really love it," Grey explained.

"Lyrically, it's coming from a darker place. It's about loving somebody so much you'll wait your whole life for that person even if it means you die waiting. That's the power of real love. It can hurt," she went on to say.

At the moment, a full-blown album by Eminem remains absent. It is unknown what his shying away from the limelight means.
