Emmys 2014 start time tonight [NBC]; Robin Williams tribute, list of nominees

This year's Primetime Emmys telecast plans to celebrate the life and work of the late award-winning actor Robin Williams.

The comedian's death came two weeks prior to the scheduled telecast of the 66th annual TV awards show.

Producer Don Mischer divulged to TV Guide Magazine: "With the tragic loss of Robin, we're trying to deal with that and figure out what to do in the right, appropriate and meaningful way. It's about what can we do to properly remember Robin and create perhaps an emotional moment about Robin, knowing all that he did for all of us who love entertainment and love comedy."

Mischer also recalled that he and his production team had the chance of working with the actor for several special projects. "We have done at least 30 shows with Robin through the years, going back into the 1980s," he recalled. "We all know what Robin meant to the television community and to everyone, and the unique take on comedy that he brought to all of us. It's about what can we do to properly remember Robin and create perhaps an emotional moment about him."

This is not the first time that the production staff of an award show found themselves working on last-minute program revisions due to the untimely deaths of the stars. Back in 2012, Grammy Awards had to work on a special tribute to Whitney Houston with only a day after the singer's death. The Emmys, on the other hand, did a very big adjustment back in 1994 after Jessica Tandy, who was a nominee for an award during that year, died on the day of the telecast itself.

On the other hand, the television industry is expected to have a grand night for this year's Emmy Awards. Seth Meyers will host this year's festivities.

Here is the complete list of nominees for the top awards in the 66th Emmy Awards night, scheduled for red carpet broadcast at 7:30 p.m. ET and the awards ceremonies will be broadcasted live at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
