Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard) is still several steps ahead of his vengeful wife Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) in the upcoming episode of the Fox series "Empire" season 2.

In "Without A Country," TV Guide reports that the record label head is still very much in control of his entertainment business after the hostile takeover led by Cookie failed last episode. In fact, Lucious seems to be rubbing his success on her face as he demonstrates his power by creating a brand new song behind bars.

As Lucious records his new track, he will be meeting a corrections officer named McKnight (guest star Chris "Ludacris" Bridges). While it is still unclear if the prison guard will be a friend to Lucious, it is expected that he will be playing an important role in the inmate's short stint in prison.

In the promo released for the next episode, Lucious is seen consulting with a new lawyer to handle his case. This time, it looks like the attorney will succeed in getting him out of prison, as he is next shown back in control of Empire. Lucious will dive in head first in making a bigger and better company than before, but he also has to deal with a prosecutor determined to take him down, as well as the FBI.

Meanwhile, the rest of the family continues to fight over power. The Lyon brothers are busy minding their own businesses to keep Empire afloat. Hakeem (Bryshere Y. Gray) wants to form a girl group and he will do his best to woo a hot Latina singer to lead the entourage. Jamal (Jussie Smollett) remains in control of the company, thanks to his dad's deal with Mimi (Marisa Tomei).

As for Cookie, she is still feeling sore after her botched attempt to take over Lucious' position. While eating with the family, she shows her displeasure with her husband by ripping an entire dinner off the table and onto the floor. She is also seen reprimanding Jamal that he is slowly turning into Lucious.

Next episode, Cookie will try to start up a record label of her own with Anika (Grace Gealey), Hakeem (Bryshere Y. Gray), and Andre (Trai Byers). Things will not go smoothly for them, however, due to their opposing visions of the direction the label should go in.

"Empire" season 2 airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. EST on Fox.
