The current director of European Christian Mission Richard Tiplady is to take over leadership of the International Christian College in Glasgow.

He succeeds Tony Sargent, who retired in the summer. Tiplady will take up the position next summer.

He has previously served as a consultant to Christian aid agency Tearfund and several of its projects in Russia, Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Prior to that, he worked for Mission Africa. His work with the organisation included teaching at Samuel Bill Theological College in Nigeria and developing its work in England.

He was also associate director of the UK evangelical network for world mission, Global Connections, from 1996 to 2002.

Tiplady is a former student of ICC, having received his Bachelor of Divinity degree and MA in theology there.

“I am delighted to be joining ICC,” he said.

“The task of preparing current and future generations of Christians to develop their understanding of their faith and relate it to the world around has never been more important.

“ICC has a central place in doing this for the church in Scotland, the UK, and the rest of the world.”
