Evangelical Alliance's Advent Prayer Guide Spreads the Net

The Evangelical Alliance's annual Advent Prayer Guide was released recently and it has been reported as being the most successful yet. For the first time a new large print version is available, which has allowed the precious message instilled in the guide to reach out to a wider audience.

People with impaired vision will even be able to read the guide online, and so will be able to join the 160,000 people that have already been sent their copies. This huge potential to gather Christians and to bring many others in also, will present the great opportunity for prayer and faith to be united together on a huge scale.

The Prayer and Evangelism Co-ordinator for the Evangelical Alliance, Jane Holloway said, "We are delighted that the Advent Prayer Guide can now be read by people who find the standard print version too difficult to use. The Alliance hopes that those who are visually impaired will find it a useful prayer tool over the next month."

The Prayer Guide's popularity has soared over recent years and it has now reached an all time high, and the Evangelical Alliance’s pro-active and forward thinking have been commended by evangelicals across the country as the new online resource was released.

Holloway commented, "The Advent Prayer Initiative, which has been going since the millennium, has reached new heights in 2004, revealing a clear increase in a desire and need for prayer across our nation, and across our world. The sales for this year's Advent Prayer Guide have exceeded expectations taking it well beyond the sales for the same period in 2003."

This year's guide has as its main theme; 'Rebuilding Trust in a Confused World'. It also presents prayer needs such as:
- 'Trust and Conflict'
- 'Trust and the Media'
- 'Trust and Business'
- 'Trust and the Community'

The guide provides each reader with daily Bible readings, and also points on which to reflect and pray on from 28th November until 24th December. The guide has been sent out to all Evangelical Alliance members and is also sold by the Christian Publicity Organisation (CPO) at CPO online
