The second episode of "Extant" season 2 will focus on Julie Gelineau (Grace Gummer) as she tries to manage Ethan Woods' (Pierce Gagnon) mutinous nature while his mother Molly (Halle Berry) is on the run from the government.

TV Guide reports that in "Morphoses," the former astronaut will escape the psychiatric hospital she was imprisoned in to investigate bizarre deaths similar to those she witnessed in space. She will team up with JD Richter (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), a determined cop who just signed on to the case.

In their quest for the truth, they will discover another pregnant woman suffering from the same inexplicable and fatal symptoms. Viewers will then see Molly question her own sanity, and it will appear that her situation is about to get worse.

Episode 2 will also see the return of General Tobias Shepherd (David Morrissey), the respected head of the Global Security Commission. He will be the one to lead the search for Molly after she bailed out from the mental facility. Lucy (Kiersey Clemons), Ethan's Humanich, will also reappear in the show.

Last week, viewers got the shock of their lives when Molly's husband Dr. John Woods, a robotics engineer heading the Humanichs Project, died after being hit by an oncoming train.

Meanwhile, more spoilers, news and speculations will be known about "Extant" at the San Diego's Comic Con, according to Design and Trends. The show will be running from Thursday, July 9 through Sunday, July 12.

Halle Berry will attend the event with her new co-star Jeffrey Dean Morgan, alongside executive producers Craig Shapiro and Mickey Fisher. The "Extant's" panel is expected to provide an exclusive teaser to provide the fans with a glimpse of the upcoming episodes of the mystery thriller. Chris Hardwick, comedian and host of @midnight, will act as the moderator.

"Extant" season 2 premieres its second episode at 10 p.m. Wednesday on CBS.
