Molly Woods (Halle Berry) will finally learn the frightening truth about what happened to her son in the newest episode of CBS' science fiction drama "Extant" season 2.
Hollywood Hills reports that in "Empathy for the Devil," the ISEA astronaut and scientist will discover something shocking about the son she previously thought was dead. Meanwhile, Julie's (Grace Gummer) decision to erase Ethan's (Pierce Gagnon) memory will lead to an ominous fallout.
Last week, Julie had her hands full trying to restrain Ethan's moody behavior. It appeared that he learned of his father's death. Meanwhile, JD Richter (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) got Molly out on a two-day leave to further investigate the case of "alien pregnancies." He remained skeptical of what she was claiming, though, and when he was about to send her back to the center, Molly managed to knock him out with the drugs she administered earlier.
Meanwhile, Julie finally created a new Humanic named Lucy (Kiersey Clemons). She was Molly's image, prompting the viewers to think that she used John's old blueprints for the job, according to Celebrity Laundry. Unlike Ethan, Lucy's algorithm made her aware if her actions were right or wrong. However, she forgot her own strength and hurt Charlie (Tyler Hilton) after getting spooked by a loud sound made by the moody Ethan.
Julie's boss Anna (Hilarie Burton) saw what Lucy was capable of and told her to make the robot even stronger. She told Julie that if she agreed, she could keep Ethan. Charlie, however, did not want to be part of the project, even if it meant giving up Molly's son.
When Ethan found out that Charlie was abandoning him and that he would never see his mother again, he tried to kill himself. He raised his body temperature to dangerous levels and was about to destroy his central core when Charlie and Julie stopped him. They ended up assuring him that they would stay on the project.
As for Molly, she discovered that the man meeting women for one-night-stands was in fact her other son she thought was dead. When she eventually found him, she saw that a drone was stalking him.
"Extant" episode 3 airs Wednesday at 9 p.m. on CBS.
