Next week's episode is the penultimate episode for "Falling Skies" season 5 and the whole series. That said, fans can expect more action, violence, revelations and a worrying deadlock as the post-apocalyptic drama prepares to bid a bloody goodbye. 

The upcoming installment is titled "Reunion," which isn't as sweet as it sounds. For starters, Ben is very much inclined to learn what the enemies are preparing in order to defeat them before they execute their sinister plans. In doing so, Ben puts his life in major jeopardy. 

It remains to be seen if he lives to tell the others their foes' schemes or if he bites the dust and be simply remembered for his bravery. Nevertheless, nothing can stop him from performing his mega-dangerous undertaking and all the others can do is hope he makes it out in one piece. 

On the other hand, this episode is also where Pope finally discovers that Tom is alive and well. From there, Pope, who recently returned with his degenerate camp, will launch his final attack. 

Speaking of Tom, the 2nd Mass second-in-command will get a hold of a "powerful new weapon" that he will use against the Espheni. However, an uninvited guest implores 2nd Mass to change their plans. 

A trailer for the episode that will air on Aug. 23 reveals the involvement of Queen in all of the mayhem, which should make things far worse than it has ever been. Is survival still an option?

After this action-packed episode, fans will be treated to the glorious finale of the series on Aug. 30.

The synopsis for the season-ender reads: "The final standoff brings the Masons, the 2nd Mass, and their new allies into the bowels of an iconic American location, wrought with unpredictable obstacles."
