Mod support for the PlayStation 4 (PS4) port of "Fallout 4" was meant to come out much earlier this year, but it was delayed when Sony and Bethesda Softworks could not agree on the terms and specifics of the feature. It was then revived and delayed again, and now, Bethesda confirms it is launching this November.

"Our next title update for 'Fallout4' will add PS4 Mod Support. We expect it to release this month. Stay tuned for updates," reads the company's official announcement made on Twitter.

This means that within the next two weeks, another update is coming for the PS4 version of "Fallout 4," and with it, comes mod support. This will give a brand new dashboard for the game, and by accessing, it players can then search, download, and utilize numerous mods created by the members of the gaming community.

However, the PS4 version will be severely limited in terms of what kind of mods it can run. Unlike the PC and Xbox One version, the PS4 port will only accept mods that do not use external assets. This means mods that come with custom graphics will not be supported, limiting what kind of mods PS4 users will have.

Mods that use the built-in assets will still allow creative users to further enhance the graphics, physics, environments, and kinds of weapons. However, all of these will still look like the ones already in the game since modders cannot use their own custom graphics such as the mod that puts in the Hulk or lightsabers into the game.

Bethesda also made it clear that mod support for "Fallout 4" was not going to be released until "Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition" came out. Now that the game has been released, it is only a matter of days before PS4 mod support for "Fallout 4" is finally launched. No exact date has been announced, however.
