"Fallout 4" presents players with a wasteland that can truly be tackled in any number of ways.

In order to figure out the ideal way to beat "Fallout 4," players need to figure out the play style that suits them best and then construct a character build for that.

As fans know, "Fallout 4" has what it dubs as SPECIAL attributes along with corresponding perks that can grant the players stat boosts along with some very useful abilities. This is where defining the character build becomes very important.

One character build to consider, especially for beginners as iDigital Times pointed out, is a melee-based character. A melee fighter will make use of batons, bats, and even swords against the opponents in "Fallout 4," and since that fundamentally means that combat will take place within close quarters, it is imperative that players invest some of their ability points in increasing the Endurance attribute. Doing so will make them more formidable and capable of taking more damage even against a horde of ghouls, raiders, or any group of enemies.

Players who are looking to try out a melee build in "Fallout 4" will also be well served to put some points into the Toughness perk, which would require at least level one Endurance as a prerequisite, so that they will receive additional damage resistance while in battle, according to Trusted Reviews.

One downside to being a melee character is that the sole survivor is more prone to taking heavy doses of radiation damage, especially from feral ghouls. Once again, the Endurance attribute can help here.

With level six Endurance, players can begin putting points into the Rad Resistant perk, and the higher this is, the more impervious they are to even the most radiated enemies and locations.

While Endurance may be the primary attribute that needs to be focused on for melee characters in "Fallout 4," it would also be recommended for players to invest some points in Strength so that they can gain access to better armor and weapons, and also so they can pack even more pop into each and every strike.
