'Fallout 4' tip, tricks: How to get a Sentry Bot companion

"Fallout 4"Bethesda Softworks

The Sentry Bot is one of the more powerful foes inside "Fallout 4," however, there's a way to get this formidable automaton to fight on the side of the sole survivor.

Thanks to the work of one tipster, who goes by the username "MrBossFTW," players can now have one of the game's Sentry Bots join them as they make it through wasteland, iDigital Times reported.

The first thing players need to do is to head over to the Robotics Disposal Ground, a location found Vault 111, the Red Rocket Gas Station and Sanctuary Hills. This is where players will find the Combat Sentry Prototype MKIV, a kind of Sentry Bot. Once there, players will need to find a shed. Inside the shed, players will be able to see a terminal containing a holotape. The next step is to eject the holotape from the terminal, locate it in their inventory and then proceed to load it onto the Pip-Boy.

Once the holotape is in the Pip-Boy, players can now start the application named Sentry. From here, players need to click on the "Engage Defense Systems" tab and that will bring up four different locations, with those being Fort Hagen, the Revere Satellite Array, South Boston Checkpoint, and USAF Olivia. Players can select any of the four locations.

After a location is selected, the Sentry Bot will head there and as it does, the players can travel with it, and the neat thing is that the robot will fire at any enemy that fires at it, meaning it will be fighting alongside the sole survivor just like the other companions inside "Fallout 4."

Since the Sentry Bot is not an actual companion, players can still choose to have any of the other followers inside "Fallout 4" tag along as well.

Companions such as Paladin Danse, Piper, and Preston Garvey in particular can be very helpful in almost any situation inside "Fallout 4," according to Siliconera, so they are good options to have beside the sole survivor.

Other companions are ideal for certain situations. For example, companions such as Codsworth and X6-88 have unique abilities that make them particularly well suited for fights against the other robotic foes inside "Fallout 4."

It's simply up to players to figure out which companion best suits their style of play inside "Fallout 4."
