Voice actor Ryan Alosio may have inadvertently given "Fallout" fans an early Christmas gift with his recent Instagram post.

Based on a report by Yibada, Alosio shared a post confirming that pre-production for "Fallout 5" was already under way. The Instagram page Fallout Temple quickly picked up on the post, resulting in the quick spread of the new information online. The response was so massive, and this prompted Alosio to take down his original post.

Meanwhile, a report by FragHero has debunked the rumors of a "Fallout 5" despite Alosio's post and claimed that the voice actor only made the post as a prank on the game's followers.

Still, hope is high that the fresh installment could well be under development given that Bethesda — the studio behind the hit game — has reportedly trademarked the name "Fallout: New Orleans" in Europe. The application for the trademark was reportedly filed last Aug. 10 before the European Union Intellectual Property Office.

However, a report by Gamerant indicated that the trademark is still in its early stages, meaning there is still a review under way. A fee of €1,000 must also be paid by the applicant before the process continues. Until all requirements are completed, there will be no way to verify whether Bethesda actually made the filing, meaning this could well be a poseur.

Still, the site raised the possibility that the studio could be using the same strategy they employed for "Fallout 3" and "Fallout: New Vegas," which came out two years later.

Meanwhile, the studio is set to release PS4 downloadable content (DLC) for "Fallout 4" which will roll out a creation kit that will give players the power to modify and tweak some of the features of the game, Game and Guide reported.

Bethesda will also roll out the update 1.8 patch, which seeks to address issues pertaining to sound effects, crashes while exiting back to the Main Menu, issues with the mods, as well as some tweaks to the Work in Progress mode.
