"Fallout Shelter" is the first major mobile game developed by Bethesda and is already one of the highest rated and most downloaded gaming apps for iOS. Many have wondered if the company is going to release the game for Android, and Bethesda game director Todd Howard has finally given an answer. 

According to a report from TechTimes, Howard has been quoted as saying, "Our current priority is getting it out for Android." 

Pete Hines, vice president of Bethesda Softworks and also public relations officer, posted via Twitter that they are working on numerous fixes, updates, and new content for the game. His post also confirmed that they are working on an Android at this very moment. 

It is expected that "Fallout Shelter" will be released for Android prior to the end of the year before the release of "Fallout 4," but no exact release date has yet been announced. 

"Fallout Shelter" is a stand-alone title separate from "Fallout 4" in which gamers take care of their own underground vault after a nuclear war ravaged the Earth. Players need to build rooms, bring in more vault dwellers, protect the dwellers from the dangers of the outside world, and commission a few to explore the wasteland for supplies. The game does not require an Internet connection and the in-app purchases are all optional, meaning gamers can experience the full content without paying a penny.

TechTimes says the game was played over 70 million times by people across the globe in its first week and has become the number one downloaded app in 25 countries. According to the Washington Post, Howard and the team do not use focus groups to test the game prior to its release and simply make the games they themselves would enjoy playing on their mobile devices.
