"Far Cry 4" is making the news these days, and it helps in promoting the game in a big way.

Just recently, Ubisoft gained the title for "Guinness World Record for Highest Altitude Videogame Session" when a player named William Cruz managed to play "Far Cry 4" while at an elevated location in the Everest Himalayas.

Cruz, the 23-year-old native of Provo, Utah who won a contest to earn the right to play "Far Cry 4" in the Himalayas prior to the game's release, played when he was at 18,569 feet or 5,660 meters above sea level.

Ubisoft shared the news via a press release, where the game publisher discussed how Cruz managed to get the record.

Cruz hiked to the summit of Kala Patthar, one of the Himalayan Mountains set at the base of Mt. Everest in Nepal, with a support team of 15 people, including sherpas, a video crew and a train of yaks that helped carry the television, portable generator and gaming equipment necessary to set the record. On October 11, Cruz played Far Cry 4 on a gaming console for 79 minutes – from 4:38pm local Nepal time until 5:57pm, dealing with wind gusts of up to 25mph, temperatures that dropped from 26 to 17 degrees F, and the hazards of reduced oxygen where the air pressure is only half that of sea level."

The upcoming action-packed first-person shooter game will try to take after the success of its predecessor, "Far Cry 3," which is believed to be the best game released in 2013.

Ubisoft will release "Far Cry 4" PlayStation 4 and Xbox One editions on Nov. 18 in its disk and digital versions in the U.S., while the game will be released in Australia and Europe on Nov. 20.

Meanwhile, Ubisoft included "Far Cry 4" in the titles that were pulled out from Stream sale earlier today, including "The Crew" and "Assassin's Creed Unity." It means that Windows players will have to wait for a while before they get to enjoy the new game.
