Fighting a fanatical cult has never been an easy feat, so Ubisoft has announced that "Far Cry 5" will be featuring a story mode that can accommodate two players.

Dan Hay, Ubisoft's game director for "Far Cry 5" has explained that the development team has worked to retain the essence of the single-player experience with the cooperative (co-op) multiplayer mode. "It's super tricky because, obviously, it's got to be fun, it's got to be dynamic, it's got to give you an opportunity to play with a friend, but at the same time we want to be able to tell a story," said Hay.

Hay also stated that they have made it so that the game will still allow co-op multiplayer gamers to access the stories and the micro-stories, Guns for Hire, and the character of the main storyline. They wanted players to experience with other people in-game what they would experience playing solo. The game's single player aspect can now be available to multiplayer gamers.

It is not yet clear how this will affect progress once the other player drops out of the game due to connectivity issues or other circumstances. Perhaps this was the part which the developers considered as difficult, among other factors which may affect gameplay balance. This was a big improvement from the predecessor "Far Cry 4" where co-op players can only play the game together through side-quests.

To assist players in their cultist extermination escapade, a plethora of rides and guns are available although some will be difficult to unlock or obtain. Players and their friends who drop-in on the session will be able to drive tractors, jet planes, and even quad bikes, aside from the regular four-wheeled vehicles. Players will also find no shortage of firepower in the game world, as "Far Cry 5" will feature some of the most popular and modern rifles, pistols, shotguns, and even rocket launchers.

"Far Cry 5" is set to be released on Feb. 27, 2018 for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Microsoft Windows.
