"Far Cry 5" does Montana in 4K with flying colors, as the developers of the upcoming first-person shooter (FPS) sequel have released a 20-minute gameplay footage.

IGN had the honors of being able to test the game in its full graphical glory, where the tester goes through a lot of high-octane hijinks such as flying an airplane and running into a bear. The footage also showcases the Doomsday cult, which is one of the main attractions of the game.

The said cult is a fanatical brotherhood in fictional Montana which terrorizes the community while spreading their own twisted beliefs. "Far Cry 5" trades in the lush foreign landscapes of its previous games, which took place in regions like Polynesia and the Himalayas, for something more familiar like the provincial Montana setting. The place is primarily a farm land with some Midwest backwater towns and American bars.

The said 20-minute gameplay footage reveals a familiar gameplay which is standard in all "Far Cry" games, where players are given the freedom how to approach a particular assault. They could either go in silently and take out everyone discreetly or charge headfirst guns blazing. The gameplay video shows the player scouting the area carefully first but ultimately decides to let all hell loose instead of executing the assault professionally.

This is the usual scenario in all "Far Cry" games, and the fifth title is no exception. Apparently, melee weapons are also now given more priority, as is shown in the baseball bat decorated with the American flag motif, which can now be wielded throughout the game. Previously, melee weapons in the last two "Far Cry" games were only a means to do emergency melee attacks and could not be used as the standard weapons.

The developers have also admitted that this time around, violence is more pronounced in the game, and they have even inserted in some social commentaries in the game which are expected to be relevant to the current era of social problems. More will be found out about the game once it gets released on March 27, 2018 for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and the PC.
