As revealed in the trailer of season 3 episode 5, titled "The House of Special Purpose," Ray and his girlfriend Nikki (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) will make an inappropriate video tape with the former disguised as his twin. When the couple send a copy of the video to Emmit's household, they include a note that reads, "Pay us $100,000 or we show your wife."

Stella (Linda Kash) happens to be the first person to come across the tape, but Emmit seems like he no longer intends to take part in his brother's petty games. From the looks of it, Emmit will not pay his brother.

"Just pay the damned money and pray that I am satisfied," Ray is yelling at his brother on the phone. "You're dead, do you hear me? Dead," Emmit replies.

Also happening in the episode, Eden Valley Police Chief Gloria (Carrie Coon) starts to piece the puzzle together, and she gets close to solving the Ennis Stussy (Scott Hylands) murder case.

"The fella with his head caved in, he was hired by another fella to rob somebody," Gloria shared the detail to Donny (Mark Forward). "His brother," Winnie adds.

For the uninitiated, the third season of the crime anthology series follows the Stussy brothers, Emmit and Ray, the former the more successful of the two. Ray, who is a balding parole officer, finds hope in one of his parolees, Nikki. She becomes his girlfriend, and together they will try to change his fortune. Most of the time, they do so by extorting money from Emmit.

"Fargo" season 3 episode 5, titled "The House of Special Purpose," premieres Wednesday, May 17, at 10 p.m. EDT on FX.
