Fresh from the bloody finale on Sunday, "Fargo" season 3 is starting to making noise as early as now.

Series showrunner Noah Hawley talked about the plans for the show's third season during a post-mortem conference call. According to Hawley, fans will have to wait a little longer before they can see the next installment of the multi-awarded series.

"The reality is you won't see it in 2016," Hawley explained in a report from Variety. "It's a winter show for better or worse. There is no time to shoot another year before this winter is over." This means that the show will not return until 2017.

In an interview with Deadline, Hawley said the challenge in making "Fargo" season 3 is making sure that its plot is somehow similar to the first two seasons but different at the same time.

He also said that he wants to make the story of the third season more intimate compared to the large-scale events in season 2.

Hawley also said that he needs to make sure that the script of "Fargo" season 3 is almost complete before they start filming it. "We're going through the writing process now. I've written the first hour, we're about halfway through breaking the season. We'll be writing over the next few months with the idea we'll go into production, much like our first year, in November and be back on the air in spring of 2017," the series creator said.

Previous reports said that the events of "Fargo" season 3 will take place in the year 2010. According to Hawley, the upcoming season will feature a "more contemporary story" compared to the first season.

In addition, Hawley explained that he enjoys working on a plot within the modern timeframe. "I like the idea that we're now living in a very selfie-oriented culture where people photograph what they're eating and put it up for other people to see," he stated.
