More and more details on who's returning and who's joining "Fast and Furious 8" come to light. During the Television Critics Association Press Tour, Jordana Brewster spoke about the possibility of returning to the franchise as Mia Toretto.

For the uninitiated, the character is the late Paul Walker's character's love interest. Walker's character, Brian O'Conner, will no longer be returning to the franchise. And it is safe to say that Mia, whose storyline mostly revolved around Brian, might not be as well.

But this is not how Brewster pictures things happening in "Fast and Furious 8."

The actress admitted, as quoted by Slash Film that, "There hasn't been discussion but I can kind of see it go either way.

She added that "Mia is with Brian but on the other hand she's still Dom's sister. I don't know. I'm not sure."

In the latest installment in the franchise, "Fast and Furious 7," Mia was not very much involved in the mission to defeat Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham). This is because she was pregnant with her second child and was taking care of her son, Jack.

Whether or not she will return is a mystery for now.

The film will be the first without Walker around and Brewster believes that his absence will have a big impact on the movie.

"The best part was Paul and now it's the fans," the actress said. "I think the fans have a hunger for it which is amazing, but it'll be different for sure," she went on to say.

Meanwhile, Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson are set to return for "Fast and Furious 8." It is believed that Kurt Russell, who wasn't much of a presence in the recent film, will be the big enemy the Toretto gang will have to deal with in the next film.

It has also been teased that the action will take place in New York, although it is rumored that it could also go all the way to Cuba.

"Fast and Furious 8," which is the first installment of the franchise's concluding trilogy, will be out Apr. 14, 2017.
