With the help of CGI, fans got to have a last look at the late Paul Walker's character, Brian O'Connor, at this year's epic hit, "Furious 7." Although many think that the franchise will never be the same again without the late actor, series producer Neal H. Moritz said that there are more stories to be told, and that the eighth installment in the series, while containing the same incredible action as expected of the franchise, will also tell much about the other characters.

Speaking to Screenrant, Moritz said, "I think the thing that's made 'The Fast and the Furious' special is obviously we have incredible action and so on. But the thing that people really relate to the most is the characters."

Indeed, despite the incredible car chases and unbelievable stunts in "Furious 7," moviegoers couldn't help but shed tears when Brian smiled at Dom for the last time before they went on their separate ways at the end of the film.

Moritz said that they're lucky to have a lot of great characters such as Dom (Vin Diesel), and Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) so there's still a lot to explore in the upcoming film. Aside from Diesel and Rodriguez, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is also coming back, and Jason Statham has said that he plans to return for future installments in the series.

There have been rumors that "Fast and Furious 8" could take place in New York City, and it is also speculated that Eva Mendes' character, Monica Fuentes, could make her return to the series. Monica was last seen in "Fast Five." Another one reportedly making his return is Lucas Black, who was the star in "Tokyo Drift." According to Deadline's sources, the actor will become a regular in the series and that he has signed up for the seventh, eighth, and ninth installments of the franchise.

"Fast and Furious 8" is slated for release on April 17, 2017.
