A Western Conference showdown will take place at the Toyota Stadium as FC Dallas aim to snap a three-match losing streak on their home field against Real Salt Lake.

FC Dallas is going through a tough phase as the club dropped their last three Major League Soccer (MLS) matches, which is the longest losing streak the Toros have had this season.

It has been more than a month since FC Dallas captured a victory in the MLS and it was against the Portland Timbers.

Since then the Toros were on a downhill ride losing to the Chicago Fire (2–0), LA Galaxy (2–1), and Vancouver Whitecaps FC (1–0).

The string of losses placed FC Dallas, who hold an 11–8–5 record, in a tie with the San Jose Earthquakes as both clubs have 38 points.

A win over Real Salt Lake will aid the Toros in solidifying a playoff berth and getting back on the winning track since they were on a five-match winning streak before losing three consecutive.

Meanwhile, Real Salt Lake ended a three-match losing streak in its last MLS outing as the club defeated Seattle Sounders FC 2–0 with the victory also being the first since last month.

Before the win, the club suffered defeats facing D.C. United (6–4), Vancouver (4–0), and Portland (1–0).

The Royals are on the bottom half of the Western Conference standings with 32 points and an 8–10–8 record tied with the Houston Dynamo.

Despite the current point tally, Real Salt Lake still has a chance of making it to the playoffs with the club only six points behind the last playoff berth.

Including their match against FC Dallas, the Royals still have eight games in their schedule and can turn things around to have a better chance of reaching the playoffs; although there is only a small room for error with the regular season winding down.

The match between FC Dallas and Real Salt Lake will be played on Saturday, Aug. 29, at 9 p.m. EST. To watch via live stream click here.
