"Fear the Walking Dead" season 2 has been rumored to premiere sometime in June or July in order for the network to quickly switch over to the flagship series once "Fear" season 2 is over. However, according to a report from TVLine, the series will instead premiere as early as April this year.

According to the report, the first half of the series will launch this April while the second half, following the midseason break, will air "sometime in 2016." It is highly speculated that the second half of the season will air during the midseason break of "The Walking Dead" season 6, the flagship series.

If the latter proves true then it is likely that the second half of "Fear the Walking Dead" season 2 will air by December of this year and end by late January or early February 2017.

It is also stated that "Talking Dead" hosted by Chris Hardwick, the official after-show series of the franchise, will air after every episode of "Fear" season 2. It is expected that this will continue until the flagship arrives. "Talking Dead" often features interviews from cast members whose characters have been killed off as well as exclusive interviews with the writers and showrunners.

"Fear the Walking Dead" season 2 will be significantly longer than season 1, featuring 15 episodes instead of 6. It is likely for this reason that the premiere date has been bumped a few months up in order to allow the show to take a break after reaching its midway point and still be able to complete its run before the end of the year.

Unlike the flagship series, "Fear the Walking Dead" season 2 will continue tackling the events that unfolded right after the zombie breakout began and will be primarily set at sea, with the main cast of characters now aboard the yacht owned by mysterious businessman Victor Strand (Colman Domingo).
