"Fear the Walking Dead" season 2 will basically be "blood vs. bond," according to executive producer Gale Anne Hurd. In an interview with Deadline, she talked about what to expect in the new season of the spinoff.

Hurd said that the show will still be "very true" to "The Walking Dead." Like the mothership, Travis and his group will be presented with complicated challenges and decisions as they go on to escape the epidemic.

"It is about who would I be, and what would I do in the zombie apocalypse? It also deals with the issues of blood vs. bond," Hurd teased of "Fear the Walking Dead" season 2's premise.

"Is it possible that you can develop a stronger bond with a stranger that you've been thrown in with than with your own family?" the EP went on to tease.

Although "Fear the Walking Dead" season 2 follows the survivors as they break free from the outbreak on board Strand's (Colman Domingo) luxurious yacht, Hurd hints that "it is not completely sea-bound."

Speaking of the rich young man, Domingo's character was promoted to regular in "Fear the Walking Dead" season 2, a move that, according to Variety's review, strengthens and adds an element of surprise to the show.

The billionaire's motivations after allowing Travis's group of survivors to find refuge in his mansion and his yacht remain shrouded in mystery, although "Fear the Walking Dead" has given away indications that he is not to be trusted.

In "Fear the Walking Dead" season 2, the motley crew of survivors will cruise through the seas and away from their infested home land. Aside from zombies, humans themselves present grave threat. The new season also marks the clash of the show and its mini web-series "Flight 462."

"Fear the Walking Dead" season 2 premieres on April 10 on AMC.
