'Fear the Walking Dead' season 2 spoilers: Madison to embrace her remorseless side

Madison goes dark in "Fear the Walking Dead" season 2.AMC

Madison Clark (Kim Dickens) and her dark side will be explored when the hit AMC series "Fear the Walking Dead" returns for its second season.

According to Melty, Madison will shed off her mother figure persona and embrace her ruthless streak in the upcoming installment. During the start of season 1, viewers saw her capable of murder when one of their neighbors turned into a zombie. It was Travis Manawa (Cliff Curtis) who even showed compassion to the woman and told Madison he was against ending a life. Now that their dysfunctional family is being pushed out to the ocean to escape the zombie holocaust, it appears that Madison's dark side will not stay bottled up any longer.

Meanwhile, show creator Dave Erickson has confirmed with Entertainment Weekly that they were pumped to explore a zombie water action. During last season's finale, the survivors escaped the walkers by heading to sea in Victor Strand's (Colman Domingo) yacht. Erickson said, however, that getting into the boat would be no easy task for them. In their quest to survive, other people would reportedly follow the yacht, which would set out a course "to hug the Pacific."

"You're going to see a bunch of sea-bound refugees over the course of Season 2. And much in the same way we have taken steps to survive and compromised our morals to do so, we're going to have to deal with some people who have very similar objectives, and the default setting for most of these people is not going to be let's all live in harmony and try to build a new community," he said.

Erickson also shared that they have always been toying with the idea of taking to the sea to escape the zombies. The fact that viewers only get to see the water twice over the course of season 1 made it even more intriguing for the writers to include it in the storyline. The notion of using a boat reportedly came organically late in the writer's room. The fact that they now have access to "a pretty badass yacht" made it all the more exciting.

"Fear the Walking Dead" season 2 is expected to premiere in fall of 2016.
