AMC has already renewed the companion series to "The Walking Dead," another post-apocalyptic horror drama TV show, "Fear the Walking Dead." This means that fans will get to see Madison (Kim Dickens) and her family again. The second season's recent finale also brought several possible storylines that the third season could take upon its return in April 2017.

The upcoming installment is speculated to be set back on the U.S. mainland. The second season started on the waters but ended up in Mexico. This was when Madison, Travis (Cliff Curtis), and Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey) left the hotel and ended up at the Colonia. The group thought that they would be able to find Nick (Frank Dillane), who has already left earlier.

They then decided to find another safe haven together with other people from the Mexican refugee center until they were captured by other Americans who seems to be part of border patrol which prevents people from crossing the U.S. border. Season 3 can now start with an explanation about this group of people.

The next season can also go back to Strand (Colman Domingo) who has become a fan favorite. He was left behind at the hotel with his decision. The series can check back on him occasionally and see what is happening in his perspective.

Fans are also looking forward to Travis who started out soft in the early story but ended up killing two people responsible for ending the life of Chris (Lorenzo James Henrie), his son. Executive producer Dave Erickson told The Hollywood Reporter where the character could go from here.

Erickson said: "It was a long time coming. Travis was the moral compass of the show to a large degree — and frustratingly so, at times, for the audience. But it was always with an eye toward this moment. The one thing he promised Liza was that he would protect Chris, and he's failed to do that."

He then added: "The apocalypse has taken his son, and it's about to take him as well. So, he's absolutely broken, and we've seen a level of violence with him that we have not witnessed before. And it's not something that he's going to bounce back from. We took our time getting there with Travis, but he will be fully apocalyptic now, as we move forward."

"Fear the Walking Dead" season 3 will be back on AMC in April 2017.
