When fans check back in on Travis (Cliff Curtis) and company come "Fear the Walking Dead" season 3, the group is smaller and more dysfunctional.

The season 2 finale of "The Walking Dead" spinoff saw the shocking death of Chris (Lorenzo Henrie). His tragic fate will awaken a new side of his father.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Dave Erickson revealed the repercussions of the loss in "Fear the Walking Dead" season 3, teasing that Travis will go "fully apocalyptic."

"The one thing he promised Liza (Elizabeth Rodriguez) was that he would protect Chris, and he's failed to do that. The apocalypse has taken his son, and it's about to take him as well," he said.

"So, he's absolutely broken, and we've seen a level of violence with him that we have not witnessed before. And it's not something that he's going to bounce back from," he went on to say.

"Fear the Walking Dead" season 3 will see Travis more violent and filled with rage as he deals with the death of his son. He has held himself back in engaging to aggression, but this will change in the new season.

With Travis slowly losing his morality, this could be another blow to the already struggling group. However, there is still one saving grace — Daniel (Ruben Blades).

The character was not shown in the second season as his fate is still up in the air in the season 1 finale, where he seemingly burned to the ground with the house he was in.

"For us, Daniel is still in the world, and it's important that the characters think he's gone, but there's always a chance that he might reemerge," Erickson teased. Whether or not "Fear the Walking Dead" season 3 will see that pan out remains to be seen for now.

"Fear the Walking Dead" season 3 is set to premiere next year on AMC.
