A free demo for the colorful musical game "Figment" is now available on Steam. The demo for the game was released on Dec. 5, and the announcement was posted on the game's Steam page.

In the announcement, the developers, Bedtime Digital games talked about their demo. Figment was initially released earlier in September. However, this is the first time that the developers have offered a free demo. The reason behind the demo was to attract interested players who were not sure whether or not they wanted to buy the game. The demo would give them the chance to test "Figment" for free before committing to buying it. 

Set in a hand-drawn, Doctor Seuss-like world, Steam describes "Figment" as:

"A musical action-adventure set in the recesses of the human mind... Welcome to the world of Figment. A strange and surreal world; a place filled with our deepest thoughts, urges, and memories..."

A musical adventure set inside the mind. "Figment" starts out happy until something goes wrong. Dark thoughts begin to take over the mind. Their thoughts then take on the form of nightmarish creatures. 

Players must take on the role of Dusty and travel with his companion Piper. The two must make their away across surreal landscapes while solving puzzles and defeating monsters. It does not end there — Dusty must use the power of music to overcome nightmarish creatures and put an end to the chaos. 

It is a daunting challenge set in a bright, colorful world.

The official trailer for "Figment" was uploaded to Bedtime's YouTube channel earlier in 2017. Close to two minutes in length, the game's trailer gives potential players a closer glimpse of what they can expect from the quirky musical adventure. There is a cast of unique characters, colorful art, and a combat system that utilizes music. 

The unique gameplay might not be for everyone, but the trailer and demo did an excellent job of showing potential players what they are jumping into if they do decide to purchase "Figment."
