'Final Fantasy 15' news: Magitek Armor and more of Noctis's abilities confirmed

Square Enix

The latest issue of the Japanese magazine Weekly Shonen Jump revealed tons of details about "Final Fantasy 15." The publication has confirmed that Magitek Armor will be one of the gamers' scores of adversaries in the game.

A scan of the magazine shows Noctis battling the enormous killer humanoids. Gameranx notes that the mechanical trolls, at least as seen in the scan, were designed in a way that they will fit seamlessly with the game's backdrop, which should be a big plus to fans.

As ardent followers of the franchise know very well, not every iteration of the game features Magitek Armor. The monsters found their way to the 2010 iteration "Final Fantasy 14" and it sure is an exciting for players to see them wreak havoc in "Final Fantasy 15" as well.

Meanwhile, Weekly Shonen Jump also revealed more of Noctis's abilities and skills. As it turns out, the spiky-haired warrior can actually mount monsters that will cause them to lose a fraction of their strength and attacking ability. Noctis can even jump into aerial monsters to attack them.

In addition to that, the Fire element in "Final Fantasy 15" was also enhanced and made more authentic. When Noctis exudes fire, for example in a grassy terrain, the area in question will burst into flames, which can in turn damage either his friends or foes.

That being said, gamers should be extra careful where they cast the inferno, because it can be detrimental to basically everyone that it can get to. It can even damage Noctis himself.

Meanwhile, developer Square Enix keeps fans up to speed by sharing the latest motion capture they worked on. "Final Fantasy 15" developer Toyama showed the procedure in animating Prompto Argentum in the game's studio's official forums. A gif was also posted in the game's official Twitter account.

"Final Fantasy 15" is expected to be released later this year.
