Cloud Strife voice actor Steve Burton confirmed his participation in "Final Fantasy 7 Remake."

Burton, best known for his role as Dylan McAvoy on "The Young and the Restless" and for lending his voice for a number of Square Enix games like the "Kingdom Hearts" series and "Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children," reveals through Twitter that he will be back in the recording booth to lend his voice to the main protagonist of "Final Fantasy 7."

While the actor does not reveal where his voice will be used, it can be assumed that it could be for the PlayStation 4 version of the 2015 arcade fighting game "Dissidia Final Fantasy" or for the highly anticipated "Final Fantasy 7 Remake."

Details about the much awaited remake has been scarce, but game director Tetsuya Nomura previously told Famitsu that they will include a new dimension to the game's boss battles and key sequences.

"We've made wide use of the space and developed a battle that takes advantage of the map's characteristics where you'll fight while switching between Cloud and Barret," Nomura said in the translated interview that was posted on Tweaktown. "For example, when there's an enemy in a position that can't be reached by Cloud's sword, it's more effective to switch to Barret. It's becoming strategic in that way, as well."

In a separate interview Game Informer, game producer Yoshinori Kitase reveals that the remake will have the same approach as "Final Fantasy 13."

"It will essentially be a full scale game for each part of the multi-part series. In [FF]13, each instalment told the story from a different angle. It was kind of like approaching an unknown territory in a sense," Kitase states.

The release date of "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" is still under wraps, but Square Enix is expected to reveal the game's official release date sometime soon.
