Almost a year passed Square Enix showcased the remake of "Final Fantasy 7" at the 2015 PlayStation Experience, but details about the game's possible release date remain scarce.

While waiting for more details about the game, several reports claimed that fans of the 1997-released role-playing action video game are looking forward to seeing the classic battle systems incorporated within the remake. But game director Tetsuya Nomura revealed through Dengeki Online, translated by KH13.com that was spotted by TechnoBuffalo, that the battles for the game's remake will be different because it will have more action.

"For those who excel at action-style battles, we're working to make this a system that's different than what you've used before and can still enjoy. Recently, we checked the Guard Scorpion at the beginning of the game, and I think you'll be satisfied with the realism you'll feel there," the game director said. However, he added that he cannot divulge more information about the remake at this time.

Meanwhile, game producer Yoshinori Kitase revealed through Game Informer that players could expect to see a full-scale game that will be released in multi-part installments. This means that each installment will have its own story. "In ['Final Fantasy'] 13, each installment told the story from a different angle. It was kind of like approaching an unknown territory in a sense," the game producer said. However, there are no details about the number of episodes that will be released for the remake.

Other speculations claim that the much-awaited remake of "Final Fantasy 7" will be released sometime in 2017. However, the game's brand manager Shinji Hashimoto told Siliconera that the expected release date could just be a rumor since Square Enix has yet to confirm a specific release window for the game.
