"Final Fantasy XV" was undoubtedly a huge success when it was released just a few months ago. Coming from that positive momentum for the company, Square Enix has shared exciting news for the fans about the sci-fi gaming franchise this coming year.

Square Enix producer Shinji Hashimoto recently revealed the company's plan for 2018. "[The company is] gearing up for a big year next year," said Hashimoto in an exclusive interview with Edamame Arcade Channel, as per Gematsu. "Next year is going to be a big year," Hashimoto continued and explained that fans can expect multiple new games, expansions, and other updates for the "Final Fantasy" franchise to be released in 2018.

"Next year will be the 31st year, and our teams are busy working on new titles," Hashimoto mentioned. Although "working on new titles" usually would mean that it would take some time for it to be fully developed, Hashimoto clarified that these new games will definitely be out next year.

Unfortunately, there is not much said about what exactly these games are or how they would compliment the franchise. Nevertheless, the news itself is something to look forward, and fans can hold the company accountable for releasing such exciting news.

The "Final Fantasy" franchise is actually turning 30 years old by Dec. 18, 2017. So, the games will come after the anniversary, but although it is a delayed celebration, it is still an exciting way to celebrate the franchise's 30th year. With three whole decades of solid releases, it is no surprise that many fans have grown to love the series.

In other "Final Fantasy" news, the latest downloadable content (DLC), "Comrades," is now out for "Final Fantasy XV." This update will allow gamers to finally play co-op quests. The Episode Ignis chapter will also be out in a few weeks by Dec. 13, 2017.
