Square Enix has already said that "Final Fantasy VII Remake" will be a multi-part series. However, instead of a per-episode rollout, the entire remake will have full-game releases.

In a recent interview with Game Informer, producer Yoshinori Kitase revealed some major details about the upcoming reboot. According to Kitase, "Final Fantasy VII Remake" will take a page out of the previous "Final Fantasy XIII" releases, with each episode not being a small part of the story but a full game on its own.

The producer stated, "In XIII, each installment told the story from a different angle. It was kind of like approaching an unknown territory in a sense. Whereas with Final Fantasy VII Remake, we already have a preexisting story, so it wouldn't really make sense if that isn't encompassed in a multi-part series. So if we're just looking at each of these parts, one part should be on par with the scale of one 'Final Fantasy XIII' game."

This division is contrary to how Square Enix set up another franchise, "Hitman." The released game has multi-episodes rolling out each month, but each part acts like a DLC pack for the entire story.

According to PlayStationLifestyle, the exclusive interview also hinted that while the upcoming title is a reboot of the original "Final Fantasy VII," hardcore fans will have to be prepared for the changes that the development team made for the game. Reportedly, Kitase also teased that they "don't think anything is untouchable. That isn't to say we're changing everything!"

Meanwhile, although the exclusive content for the April issue of the magazine touched on major details of "Final Fantasy VII Remake," the release date for the upcoming reboot is still up in the air. However, fans may expect that the new title will be release toward the end of the year, possibly after the release of "Final Fantasy XV" on September 30.
