The "Final Fantasy VII" remake still has not had a release date officially unveiled yet, but it has been confirmed that the remake will offer more realistic graphics, according to game director Tetsuya Nomura in an interview last week with Famitsu Magazine.

For those who expect that the remake will feature new faces, prepare to be disappointed.

Nomura revealed that "there won't be new characters" introduced for the remake, so players will have to expect to meet all characters from the original game.

As for game graphics, Nomura said they are going for a different approach to make sure the game will suit today's visuals and new-gen players.

"My goal with the remake is to make it apply to the current era, the current generation of players..." he said in a report from Gamespot.

Nomura also mentioned that the remake will be more than just a remake. The full remake will start from the ground up.

As for the game system, Nomura couldn't divulge any details but they will be aiming for one that will provide a more realistic experience for gamers.

In the interview translated via Gematsu, Nomura was asked about the choice of hardware for the game. According to him, it's for certain that the game will be first played in PlayStation 4, but an Xbox One or PC version has not been ruled out.

It was also revealed that "Final Fantasy VII" remake will have an updated gameplay. The news on a new gameplay led fans to wonder what the new game content would be.

Some fans have even speculated on the addition of mini games or open-world exploration, as reported in Game Rant.

As for the story, it will be expanded and Nomura has mentioned that more plot devices will be featured. Fans can expect that the story will be quite longer than the original.

FF7 remake is in production, but its release date has not been confirmed. Staff members working on the original game will also be on board for the remake.
