'Final Fantasy XII' remake news: Could be getting new revamp

"Final Fantasy XII" is supposedly getting its very own remake.

News of the game getting its very own remake came from an unlikely source in "Final Fantasy Distant Worlds" conductor Arnie Roth.

Roth randomly made the somewhat surprising announcement during a "Final Fantasy Distant Worlds" concert in Pittsburgh over the weekend. He was also joined at the event by Hitoshi Sakimoto, the same man who provided the musical score for the game getting a supposed remake, according to Kotaku.

As of now, Square Enix has yet to confirm whether or not Roth's words were actually accurate, and many within the gaming industry are already expressing skepticism over the conductor's statement.

According to PC Gamer, Roth can hardly be considered as an authority figure when it comes to announcing the latest projects of Square Enix, making him an unlikely candidate to break such significant news. The website also speculates that Roth may have simply been misinformed when it came to his comments. Instead of an actual "Final Fantasy XII" remake, the website suggests that it is far more likely that the game will be getting a remastered version.

Aside from the actual accuracy of Roth's claims, many are also questioning what platforms could possibly host the "Final Fantasy XII." Some are wondering whether the remake of the game could also come to personal computers (PCs) after previous titles have found success in doing so. The highly anticipated "Final Fantasy VII" remake is also coming to PCs.

For those who may not have played "Final Fantasy XII" or who may have forgotten about it already, the original game made waves for changing up the battle system familiar to most fans of the franchise and replacing it with a style that is more massively multiplayer online game (MMO) in orientation which married with the game's built-in Gambit system.

As of now, fans of "Final Fantasy XII" can only hope that Roth's words would ultimately ring true.
