A new detail about the highly awaited "Final Fantasy XV" was unveiled by Square Enix. The game developer confirmed that game studio HexaDrive will help create the next installment of the action role-playing game under the "Final Fantasy" franchise.

Game director Hajime Tabata shared during an interview with Famitsu that the gaming studio had been working on "Final Fantasy XV" even before the title was integrated with the Luminous Engine. This means that HexaDrive has been on board since 2013. 

PlayStation Lifestyle pointed out that HexaDrive seems to have been providing the technical support for the soon-to-be released RPG title since that time, helping the main developer with its production at some point. 

This is not the first time that HexaDrive will work with Square Enix to create a "Final Fantasy" title. Earlier, the two game studios came up with "Final Fantasy Type-0" that was released last month for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, as well as PlayStation Portable. 

The game director also shared that a team from HexaDrive joined them during a trip to Japan's Chiba Prefecture to look for inspirations from some of the area's picturesque caves. This resulted to the appearance of the dungeons seen in the playable demo for "Final Fantasy XV." 

But while the game has been under development for quite some time now, Kotaku reported earlier this year that it is not yet 100 percent complete. Tabata claimed that he is not pressured to speed up the game development since he is aiming for the best quality gaming experience that players deserve. 

"We are making this for the gamers who have been waiting since the game was Final Fantasy Versus XIII," the game director said. "But, this is not the exact same game. The director is different, and the platform was switched to the current gen. And because the platform has changed, there were things we had to re-evaluate, like what we can and cannot do or even what we have to do. The various circumstances are different."
