"Final Fantasy XV" will be receiving a new update for the PlayStation 4 console this week.

The update, first reported on Nova Crystalis, will focus primarily on game enhancements. Among the additional features are a new image quality mode, simply called "Stable Mode." As the name suggests, this is intended to stabilize the game's frame rate so that players will be able to play the game comfortably. Other things that players can expect after installing the update are bigger subtitles and menu screens for better visibility.

Some new game content was also added for this patch. The update will bring back the timed quests, which will have a ranking system. Completing these quests can allow players to net new weapons. New songs have been added to the music player as well. Players will also be able to get new car stickers for Regalia customization.

It is probable that the update will fix the errors that PlayStation 4 Pro players encountered after installing the February "Final Fantasy XV" patch. According to Gamespot, the update was intended to improve the frame rate (fps) of the game. Instead of hitting 60 frames-per-second, it made the display erratic, with the fps rate speeding up and slowing down at certain intervals. It also removed the 30 fps cap on "Lite" mode.

The "Final Fantasy XV" update will be available by April 27 for Japan, according to Destroid. The Western version of the update will be released later, although the date of its release has not been given. It is still unclear if the update will also be rolled out on Xbox One or PlayStation 4.

Square Enix has earlier asked fans on the kind of content they want to see for "Final Fantasy XV." The results of the survey have not been revealed. It remains to be seen if the suggestions made would actually be incorporated in future updates.
