The "Final Fantasy XV" pre-beta stage is now entirely playable from start to finish, game's lead programmer Kitade Satoshi has revealed.

The programmer talked about the progress of the highly anticipated 15^th main installment of the "Final Fantasy" action role-playing game series on its official forum. According to Kitade, the pre-beta version of the game is almost done. It means that it can be played from start to end, while the first part of the game has been completed with a quality similar to the final product.

"We're at the point where we can play the game in its entirety from start to finish," Kitade said in Japanese. "From this, everyone on the development team can get an overall view on the game."

This means that the game developers are now in the stage where they can start polishing each element to make sure that the game will come out in its best quality possible.

In September, Square Enix unveiled more information about the plot of "Final Fantasy XV" at TGS' Active Time Report. The report revealed that King Regis, the father of the only playable character of the game, Noctis, used all his strength by conjuring a magical barrier to protect the kingdom of Lucis. Because of this, Noctis was given the responsibility to defend the kingdom from the evil Niflheim empire.

The past of Noctis's childhood friend Luna is revealed in the upcoming game. She will assume her role as the youngest Oracle in history in the province of Tenebrae in "Final Fantasy XV." Based on the report, Luna and Noctis made a pact when they were younger. But the game developer refused to reveal more details about the said pact to avoid spilling too much information.

Square Enix will release "Final Fantasy XV" on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 sometime in 2016.
