The "Half-Life" franchise proves once again that its protagonist Gordon Freeman is the right man in the wrong place, as he makes an appearance in another game.

Sadly for "Half-Life" fans, Freeman is not appearing in a "Half-Life" sequel but in the roleplaying game (RPG) "Final Fantasy XV." A disclaimer is in order though, as the character itself is not in-game, just the appearance, which can be obtained as an in-game costume, meaning he won't be a part of the story or any quest in the role-playing game. The costume will also only be available for the PC Steam version to be launched on March 3, meaning Microsoft Store versions might not receive the costume.

Still, those who are expecting "Final Fantasy XV" on the PC have something to look forward to that is related to "Half-Life." The costume resembles Freeman's iconic orange and black Hazardous EnVironment (HEV) suit or simply hazard suit, which is what he wore in the two "Half-Life" games and can be worn by any character in "Final Fantasy XV." In addition to the suit, Freeman's scientist glasses and favorite weapon crowbar are also included, this will let players cosplay the protagonist Noctis as an alien-killing Chaos Theory scientist.

The move was probably due to the partnership of the game's developers with Valve, creator of the Steam online game market and developer of the "Half-Life" series. This was not the first time "Final Fantasy XV" also had a crossover with another franchise since the in-game luxury car used in the RPG was also added as a crossover downloadable content (DLC) in "Forza Horizon 3," and the Chocobo mount also received the same treatment as a functional mount in "Assassin's Creed: Origins."

As for the Gordon Freeman attire in the game, it can be used in both single-player and multiplayer, specifically Comrades, which is the online multiplayer mode for "Final Fantasy XV." Console owners are out of luck, however, as the costume will not be ported over to the console versions of the game. It is worth noting, however, that the outfit will only be available as a limited time promotion from March 3 until May 1.
