Game director Hajime Tabata has revealed that if developer Square Enix were to put together a PC version for "Final Fantasy XV," which many fans are clamoring for, it will take a while to complete.

During an interview with Vida Extra (translated by Wccftech), Tabata said that "Final Fantasy XV" for the PC will take a considerable amount of time to make.

"On that hypothesis, not talking about something real, just an idea, if we worked on a PC version what I have very clear is that we would work to provide a better version of what we have now on consoles," Tabata explained.

"We could say that something like this would take us more than a year. We should work to adapt the engine, which is very laborious, and from there to develop its course," he went on to say.

It has been reported in the past that Tabata's team is working on bringing "Final Fantasy XV" to the PC. But based on his remarks, there will be quite a long wait before it sees the light of day. Fans can count on top quality, though.

On the other hand, Tabata also clarified that while "Final Fantasy XV" was not designed specifically for the new PlayStation 4 Pro, Square Enix will work to "improve it according to [the platform's] power."

The game director added that they will focus more on creating downloadable content (DLC) to be made playable on the PlayStation Virtual Reality (PSVR). Tabata hinted that they might give players the chance to experience a particular part of the game through VR.

As for the Xbox One S, Xbox head Phil Spencer announced on Twitter that "Final Fantasy XV" will support high-dynamic range (HDR) imaging on the new console, the same with the PS4 Pro and the PlayStation 4.

This means that the consoles will render the game in deep colors and rich contrast. It is important to note that players will need an HDR-capable television or display to experience this.

"Final Fantasy XV" will be released for the Xbox One and the PS4 on Nov. 29.
