"Final Fantasy XV" will focus on the story of Prince Noctis, and DLC content will allow players to take control of his allies in their own spin-off stories. However, none of them are female characters. DLC producer Haruyoshi Sawatari has now confirmed that an episode centered on Lunafreya may be released if the demand is high enough.

Speaking to JeuxVideo (via Dual Shockers), Sawatari stated that they would consider it but only if there is a high enough demand. Given how the game currently has no playable female character, it is likely that this demand is going to be voiced out soon.

All prior "Final Fantasy" games had a playable female character. Even the very first game, in which all the characters are male by default, gave the player the option of altering the names of the four characters to represent them as female.

Dual Shockers also point out that Lunafreya is not the only female character that a DLC episode could focus on. While Lunafreya is the leading female and the fiancee of Prince Noctis, there is also the character Aranea Highwind. Aranea is a main villain, but her story could become a compelling DLC episode.

As it stands, there are only three planned DLC episodes. Each one will focus on one of Noctis' companions: Ignis, Gladiolus, and Prompto. Each character will also play differently compared to each other and to Noctis. The final DLC planned for the game will add multiplayer options.

Lunafreya did get to see the spotlight when she was prominently featured in the CGI-film, "Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV." The events of the film take place prior and during the early parts of the main game's story, focusing on the downfall of Noctis' capital city, the death of his father King Regis, and the dissolution of the Kingsglaive.

"Final Fantasy XV" launches for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on Nov. 29.
