"Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV" is the official tie-in movie for the upcoming video game, "Final Fantasy XV." As stated in a report from Empire, the film has been announced to launch this month. The film will see a limited release in theaters in the U.S. and will later have a digital release by the end of the month.

As stated in a report from IGN, the theatrical release will be for select theaters across the country and will only be available on Aug. 19. It will then be available for digital download and streaming on Aug. 30. Fans who want to own a physical copy can get a Blu-Ray physical copy bundled with the Deluxe Edition of the game when it releases on Sept. 30. The Deluxe Edition of "Final Fantasy XV" will cost $89.99.

Fans who want to get a standalone copy of the film on Blu-Ray and DVD without having to get the game or a more expensive bundle can get it when it launches in retail stores on Oct. 4.

IGN points out that audiences can enjoy the film even without having played the game as their stories take place simultaneously and are both standalone stories. Of course, gamers who watch the film before playing the game will have an enriched experience as they will be more familiar with the game's world, characters and lore.

"Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV" focuses on King Regis and his royal guard, known as the titular Kingsglaive. Regis is to be voiced by "Game of Thrones" star Sean Bean. It is noted that King Regis is the father of the game's main protagonist, Noctis. While Noctis is not in the film, his bride-to-be Luna is a part of the story and will be voiced by another "Game of Thrones" veteran, Lena Headey.

The main character of the film, however, is the leader of the Kingsglaive named Nyx Ulric. Nyx will be voiced by "Breaking Bad" star Aaron Paul. Nyx will be accompanied by his fellow Kingsglaive members Crowe and Libertus.
