'Final Fantasy XV' release date update: How to get demo version

Good news for die hard "Final Fantasy" fans as they will be given an opportunity to play the demo version of "Final Fantasy XV," but they have to buy "Final Fantasy Type-0 HD" first.

According to Square Enix, gamers who buy the first run copies of "Type-0 HD" will have the opportunity to get the demo version of "FF XV." However, the game publisher has not revealed yet how to retrieve the demo version of the game. There are speculations that players can obtain the demo by entering a code.

"We're never going to release it as a stand-alone piece down the line. Secondly, it's intended to be a special gift for those of you who purchase early — the demo will be limited to the 'Day One' edition of the game, meaning that only the first shipment is going to have the demo in it," Square Enix product marketing manager Scott Strichart said.

"So if the demo is something you think you might like, we highly encourage you to pre-order or to be quick about getting to the store on launch day, March 17th, 2015," he quickly added.

According to reports, the "Final Fantasy XV" demo will include 3 to 4 hours of gameplay. The game's location is in the Duscae region where at least a dungeon can be explored. Square Enix added that there will be no boss fights in the demo version, but a lot of surprises are in store for gamers. The release of the demo is still unknown, but it is rumored to arrive to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Meanwhile, "Type-0 HD" is a collector's edition of the series and will be released in March, but the platform details are still undisclosed. The game is reported to be available in "limited quantities." This hints that the demo version will also be distributed limitedly to some fortunate players.

"Final Fantasy XV" will feature the main character Noctis Lucis Caelum, the prince of a royal family ruling a city with very advanced technology that protects the last crystal in the world. The main point of the story is about the invasion of another nation trying to steal the crystal.
